The ‘VH1’s Hip Hop Honors: The 90’s Game Changers awards’ were earlier this week, and you would have thought you had stepped into a time machine, given Missy Elliott opened the night, while Maria Carey and Teyana Taylor danced the night away.

The following were honored at the VH1’s Hip Hop Honors: The 90’s Game Changers were Martin Lawrence, Mariah Carey, Jermaine Dupri, Master P and Hype Williams. During the show, artist, Pharrell Williams threw shade at white nationalists, urging his fans to stand up and take action for equality. The ‘VH1’s Hip-Hop Honors: The 90’s Game Changers’ was a night of style, music, political thoughts, and celebration of the 90s, an interesting decade indeed.
