Over these past few months, we’ve been telling you about the Elron John film ‘Rocketman’ and how this musical fantasy will surely be a hit. We’ve learned that Taron Egerton of the Kingsman films will star as a young Elton, and Dexter Fletcher, the man who helped direct the upcoming Queen and Freddie Mercury biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody, is handling the directorial duties well.
The film is set to be released in May of 2019, and from what we hear, Taron will be doing his own singing in the film, but that’s no surprise as he did sing “I’m Still Standing” in the 2016 animation ‘Sing’ project, and he did quite well we might add.
Elton has had a busy year, appearing at Harry and Meghan’s Royal wedding a few weeks ago, and receiving the honor of delivering this year’s ‘Diana, Princess of Wales Lecture on HIV’ just last week. He’s also busy touring as part of his farewell tour.
