This is the time of the year that can get pretty slow with the NBA and NHL Championships being awarded in the coming days before the slow times of the summer and baseball only. There is plenty of news coming out of the sports world though. Let’s get you up to date on what is going on in the world of sports.

Mike Carey is a very well known former referee in the NFL and was a rules analyst for CBS, but he’ll no longer be returning to CBS in that capacity. He was the subject of ridicule plenty because of his inability to predict what the on-field referees would decide on during reviews.

Emily Austen is a now former sports reporter after the world saw her remarks on Barstool Sports’s latest podcast. She made derogatory remarks about Mexicans and other races and ethnicities. It should come as no surprise that she was fired from her job at Fox Sports after the world heard her remarks.

Breshard Perriman of the Baltimore Ravens just can’t catch a break. After sitting out his rookie season because of a right knee injury, it is now being reported that he has partially torn his ACL in his left knee. The injury occurred during OTAs on Thursday before swelling turned into an MRI.
