Boy Bands Are Back!

How hot is 98 Degrees? How about a song on the charts, a new Christmas album on the stores, and a super-hot selling tour in December? Could it be that boy bands are back in style?

In the latest news, Donnie Wahlberg of NKOTB is working with Entourage producer Doug Ellin to create a comedy series about boy bands, and Boyz II Men is currently in Vegas, in the throes of a terrific comeback. Yes, boy bands are back! What were the top boy bands of all time?

In the 90s, the band New Kids on the Block exploded out of Boston starring Donnie Wahlberg. The band sold nearly 90 million records and earned a Grammy nomination and two American Music Awards. Donnie is a successful actor and husband of Jenny McCarthy.

The band 98 Degrees came out of LA in the late 90s and scored many hits and sold millions of albums. They have a new Christmas album and single on the charts, and are finishing a December tour.

Boyz II Men had a terrific run in the 90s and 2000s and are currently in Vegas selling out, while New Edition (featuring Bobby Brown) enjoyed great success in the late 70s and 80s.

The Backstreet Boys (the most successful selling boy band at $140+ million in total sales) and N’SYNC were his biggest acts. Deep within NYNSC was a young singer from Memphis by the name of Justin Timberlake who would eventually explode with an incredible solo career.
