2016 will mark the 51st edition of the Academy of Country of Music Awards and just the other day, the nominations were announced.
Not surprisingly, Chris Stapleton and Eric Church led the way with each receiving five nominations. Little Big Town, as a group, has four nominations, but singer Karen Fairchild is also up for an award. You could make a case that all three are tied for the most nominations!
Chris Young and Cam have both been nominated for four awards. Cam is a first time nominee to the award show and could obviously win her first ACM award by the end of the night. Thomas Rhett and Miranda Lambert each received three nominations.
What will surely be a very touching moment at the show is how the award for Best Vocal Duo, as Joey + Rory are up for the award. As we all know by now, Joey is battling cancer.
The show will be co-hosted by Dierks Bentley and Luke Bryan. It will air April 3 from Las Vegas, so make sure you set your DVR for this amazing event.
