This MLB offseason has been pretty low-key so far, and while nothing else big should be on the horizon, we never know if that thought will change. What we do know is that many of the star free agents have signed to new ball clubs for the 2016 season and beyond. Let’s take a look at who’s going where…

Justin Upton and Yoenis Cespedes were the two big outfield bats in free agency this year and both have found great situations to be in in 2016. Both signed interesting opt-out clauses that make them unique (Upton two years, Cespedes after just one year). Upton will be patrolling the outfield in Detroit, while Cespedes returns to New York to play for the Mets.

The Giants were not messing around this offseason, signing Johnny Cueto, Jeff Samardzija, and Denard Span. They weren’t the only active team this offseason. The Tigers have signed Upton, Mark Lowe, Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Mike Pelfrey, Jordan Zimmermann, and Mike Aviles to deals to go along with a trade for Cameron Maybin and Justin Wilson.

The Red Sox spent plenty of money this offseason and did it basically on one move. Chris Young the outfielder was not a cheap contract (two years, $13 million), but David Price’s seven year, $213 million deal most certainly was expensive.

It was thought that the Orioles would let Chris Davis move on to another team, but eventually the team gave in. They signed him for just north of $160 million and added another $31 million with the signing of Darren O’Day.

These are just some of the big moves of the offseason so far, but some of the biggest and most important headed into the upcoming season.
