In what was expected news for soccer fans in the United States, Cincinnati has been chosen to be the newest team to the MLS. They are the 24th team and the latest team to be a part of the expansion in the sport. The goal of the MLS is to add two more teams in the near future with cities like Detroit, Raleigh, Indianapolis, and Charlotte among those to be considered for those spots to name a few.

Cincinnati won out over 11 other teams that applied for expansion in the MLS and really should be a great location for the league. They join a list of now 14 cities that have NFL, MLB, and MLS teams. That’s a pretty cool thing to be a part of.

Cincinnati’s team will be called FC Cincinnati and will start play in 2019.
