Love makes the world go around and is always the undercurrent in our favorite songs. In the 80s and 90s, there were hair bands and experimental groups, but love will always find its way. What were the best ballads of the 80s and 90s?

Phil Collins released “A Groovy Kind of Love,” “One More Night,” and “Another Day in Paradise” that are still terrific ballads today.

“I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” by Aerosmith, appearing in the Bruce Willis movie ‘Armageddon’ was the band first and only number one song, a great ballad for the times.

“Hello” “Endless Love,” “Lady,” and “Stuck On You” were powerful Lionel Richie ballads that revealed the ballad formula; keep the song simple, give it great lyrics and easy production values.

“Everything I Do” by Bryan Adams reminded us that Canadians can rock; Bryan brought the ladies to the show and doubled ticket sales by virtue of beautiful ballads.

“Is This Love” by Whitesnake is the video that took the MTV audience to new heights and made the girls swoon with David Coverdale’s open shirt.
