The latest Star Wars installment, ‘The Last Jedi’ opened last week, earning over $250 million in a matter of days. The film features Carrie Fisher’s last work in the franchise, as she died in late 2016.

The approved budget in 1979 film was $10 million, but it came in over budget at $11 million. No worries George, it grossed over $750 million.

There are no female pilots in the trilogy, even though the cast did deploy women in the original footage, which ended up on the cutting room floor.

In one draft of the ‘Return of the Jedi,’ Han Solo actually dies. That version never materialized.

Alec Guinness thought the original film was rubbish, nearly changing his mind to do it. He did, however, negotiate a percentage of gross earnings in the films he appeared in, ultimately earning nelay$100 million

George Lucas’s two daughters and George’s brother have appeared as extras in various films of the franchise.

Did you know that Kurt Russell was considered for the role of Han Solo? Al Pacino, Sly Stallone, and Robert De Niro actually turned down director George Lucas for the part.
