Mother earth is suffering like we’ve not seen in years; hurricane Harvey, Irma, Maria, and others in the oceans, and recently a massive earthquake in Mexico that has cost hundreds of lives and billions of dollars in damage.

Actress Salma Hayek has used her ‘Crowdrise’ account to raise over $250,000 in fan donations. If you want, here’s her effort – crowdrise.com/o/en/team/salma. This cause is close to home for Salma, being born in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, Mexico.

Salma is no stranger to activism; her work in the protection of women and fighting domestic violence has been legendary, and her voice against immigration prejudice and unfair treatment has led the way to real change in America.

If you’d like to do your part, check out UNICEF Mexico, or Brigada de Rescate Topos, a local volunteer organization.
