10 years ago this week Rihanna released the hit “Umbrella” and she suddenly became on the map for everyone around the globe. It wasn’t her first hit, but really the first one that everyone around the world craved.

This hit was nominated for awards at the Belgian TMF Awards, Belgian TMF Awards (Nederland), MTV Europe Music Awards and Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards UK, so the proof is there. It also won awards at the Grammys, MuchMusic Video Awards, MTV Video Music Awards and Billboard Music Awards.

It was ranked as one of the top 10 songs in 2007 according to Entertaiment Weekly and we certainly agree. In fact, we consider it one of the top 10 songs of the 2000s!
