In what can be described as one of the oddest turn of events, Debbie Reynolds, mother of the late Carrie Fisher, has died in Los Angeles at the age of 84. Debbie passed away just one day after daughter Carrie.
Earlier Wednesday afternoon at her son Todd Fisher’s home, Debbie was taken ill and rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center; doctors fearing she had suffered a stroke. Her son Todd has told friends and family that the stress of losing daughter Carrie the day before was simply too much for their mother. Todd added that he thought Debbie wanted to be with Carrie her daughter.
Debbie Reynolds was a living Hollywood legend, earning a starring role in the 1952 classic ‘Singing in the Rain” with Gene Kelly, but may be best known for her Oscar-nominated role in the sensational musical, “The Unsinkable Molly Brown.”
“Postcards From the Edge,” written by daughter Carrie Fisher, pulled back the covers on a difficult life long struggle to be close to her mother Debbie.
Hollywood would have rejected this script if it were submitted, but Debbie Reynolds, mother of Carrie Fisher who died just yesterday, has passed away at the age of 84.
Mother and daughter are now together in eternity.
