It’s the middle of the week and we’re dragging. It’s tough getting through the holidays because of all of the travel and fun time spent with the family. Let’s do our best to break up the monotony of the work week; here are a few rock and roll fun facts we bet you didn’t’ know…

The last cord in the classic song ‘A Day in the Life” by the Beatles was actually played by many performers, piano and guitar, but late producer Robert Stigwood was on the oboe.

The song “Wild Thing” by the 60s Troggs was written by Angelina Jolie’s uncle Chip Taylor.

“Layla” was the big hit from the short lived super group ‘Derek and the Domino’s’ and it was about Eric’s lust for George Harrison’s wife at the time Patti. They eventually married, and Eric and George remained great friends.

Jimi Hendrix was paid the most amount of money as a Woodstock festival performer, just over $18,000 for the appearance.

The Van Halen album, “5150,” is not a street address or magic number. It’s the Peavey guitar amplifier built exclusively for Eddie.

John Bonham drank in excess of 40 shots of whiskey the night he died, and did you know that Keith Moon, Momma Cass and Harry Nilsson all owned the same apartment in London, at different times, at the time of their deaths?
