2016 has been one heck of a year for Lin-Manuel Miranda and he’s not stopping yet! Miranda has just recently been announced as the Entertainer of the Year by The Associated Press. He surely won this award in part because of his amazing work on Hamilton. As the writer-composer for this musical, it’s easy to understand how he took home this honor.
Miranda won the award, beating out Dwayne Johnson, Adele and Beyonce, three amazing entertainers in their own right. Previous winners of this award include Tina Fey, Jennifer Lawrence, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Betty White and Adele among others.
Miranda’s work in 2016 includes more than just Hamilton. He wrote music, inspired a book and earned a Golden Globe nomination. Congratulations Lin-Manuel Miranda!
