Social idol and YouTube star Logan Paul did something really dumb a few weeks ago; he took a tour of the Aokigahara, a forest near Mount Fuji, Japan, considered by locals an area for suicides. Logan displayed a video of he and others in the woods, quietly panning the camera to an apparent suicide victim, laughing out loud, causing an immediate social uproar.

The star quickly apologized for his video, but the damage had been done, now generating consequences as he’s been removed from Preferred Google, the top ad platform offering advertisers sponsorships to the top YouTube producers. Google has also removed him from the upcoming season four in the “Foursome,” YouTube series. Logan Paul’s annual revenue has been placed at $15 million per year, with 15 million subscribers.

In unrelated but disturbing social news, YouTube vlogger Shane Dawson (11 million subscribers) has apologized for his joking about showing him searching “naked baby” on the internet; the video was part of his ‘Shane And Friends’ podcast from 2012 but surfaced this week.
