Monday is here, June has arrived, and we’re all beginning to make plans for a long hot summer. Let’s cool things down on that first day at the office or a home with the kids with music headlines…

Katy Perry recently announced the songs that will appear on her new LP ‘Witness,’ with a few surprises – one of them being a social countdown Jun 8th on YouTube.com/katyperry.”

Selena Gomez shelled out $2.5 million for a new home in Studio City, California. You may remember that she’d been trying to sell her Fort Worth, TX home earlier in the year with no takers, and sold her Calabasas home to a rapper last year for over $3 million. Is she a real estate agent in her spare time?

Aretha Franklin retired from touring earlier in the year, but that doesn’t mean she’s knitting baby booties. She’s just announced that she’ll be releasing a new album this year, with classical violinist Itzhak Perlman, Lionel Richie and Elton John. This week the city of Detroit will name a street after her as well.

Bob Seger just announced a new tour to begin in the fall called ‘Runaway Train,’ opening in late August in nearby Toledo, OH. A few of the stops will include special guest Nancy Wilson from Heart.
