Will Smith is telling the story of one of the hardest chapters in his life in a new six-part unscripted series for Youtube Originals entitled Best Shape of My Life.

Filmed concurrently with the writing of his memoir, Will, the well-seasoned actor embarks on a tell-all of who Will Smith really is, what he has been through, and how his mind works. While originally intended to be a docuseries about his fitness journey–an effort to lose 20 pounds in 20 weeks–Smith, in a new trailer, has revealed that the experience got much deeper than expected.

“When I started this show,” he said. “I thought I was getting into the best shape of my life physically, but mentally, I was somewhere else. I ended up discovering a whole lot of hidden things about myself.” He also shared that, at one point, he contemplated death by suicide during his darkest moments.

Produced by Smith and Pinkett Smith’s production company, Westbrook Media, the first two episodes of Best Shape of My Life will premiere on November 8th, one day before Will hits shelves.
