It wasn’t too long ago that the Artist of the Year award at this year’s American Music Awards was between 10 artists. That has all changed though after multiple weeks of voting from fans. After the voting has taken place, we see extremely Fifth Harmony, Lady Gag, Bruno Mars, Green Day and Twenty One Pilots. We are down to a final five!
The final five for this award is Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Selena Gomez, Carrie Underwood and Ariana Grande. Each and every one of these artists has the chance at a huge night. Rihanna leads the way with seven nominations of the bunch while Bieber has five chances at taking home hardware. Carrie Underwood’s three nominations are nothing to scoff at while Selena’s two are impressive as well. Finally, not only does Ariana Grande have this Artist of the Year nomination, but she’ll be performing her latest hit, “Side to Side,” with Nicki Minaj on stage at the show.
