What a Life Willie Nelson Has Lived

Willie Nelson is rich beyond his wildest dreams, although he once owned the US Government millions in back taxes. He now lives in Austin, TX, owning his own golf course on his estate. He told a reporter a while ago “Par on my golf course is whatever I say it is; just yesterday I shot a 23 on the 15th and came close to birding it!”

Willie Nelson was born in 1933 during the Great Depression and was raised by his grandparents. In his earlier years he taught himself how to play musical instruments and toured with a local Bohemian Polka band as their lead singer and guitarist.

Willie has never been afraid to work having held down menial jobs such as radio disk jockey, dishwasher and cook. Willie was also a member of the Air Force until his honorable discharge because of health issues. He attended Baylor University for couple of years but dropped out to get back to his music career.

You’ve actually seen pictures of Willie Nelson and his early days but probably didn’t recognize his as he was a clean-cut shorthaired writer and performer for the Grand Old Opry.
