Despite coming down with covid-19 in 2020, Sturgill Simpson has worked tirelessly through this lockdown. He dropped two albums in 2020, Cuttin’ Grass, Vol. 1: The Butcher Shoppe Sessions, which peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart, and its followup Cuttin’ Grass, Vol. 2: The Cowboy Arms Sessions, which reached No. 27.
There’s a lot more to look forward to for Simpson, who’s hoping to add another Grammy Award to his collection for Sound & Fury, his 2019 set which is up for best rock album at the 63rd Grammys.
But before that, Simpson and his band stopped by The Tonight Show for an acoustic performance of “Life of Sin,” from Cuttin’ Grass, Volume 1.
