It wasn’t that long ago that Viola Davis rocked it in “Fences” and then was rewarded for it at the Oscars. Just recently she was honored yet again for more greatness, but this time at Harvard. She was given the 2017 Artist of the Year Award at the Cultural Rhythms Festival.

Viola hopped on stage and talked about what a wonderful event was happening there at Harvard before talking about her life in acting. She spoke from the heart about what she tries to do as an actress, which is tell stories “that we sometimes hide.”

What a wonderful honor for Viola Davis to receive. She joins the likes of Halle Berry, Salma Hayek, Sharon Stone, Will Smith and LL Cool J among others who have won this same award.
