Netflix and television star Byron Allen might be buying Landmark Theaters, if rumors are correct. Byron and his team of investors just bought the Weather Channel a few weeks ago, and the collaboration of he and Netflix could be what the doctor ordered. Netflix needs to be in the movie business to qualify their shows for awards and leverage the venues for research about their productions, Byron and his team looking to make another financial investment. Sad news out of Hollywood, as one of the biggest stars has died; Vern Troyer, ‘Mini-Me’ from the Austin Powers films has died at the age of 49. He had been taken to the hospital a few day prior to his death after police responded to reports that he was incoherent at home, drunk and suicidal. No official cause of death has been provided.
Recent deaths that may have flown below the radar are singer Vic Damone at the age of 89, Harry ‘Night Court’ Anderson passed away at 65, professional wrestler Bruno Sammartino, dead at 82 years of age, and comedian Marty Allen have all left us.
