London is fabulous, Honk Kong is exotic, and Sydney is a long ways away. Another of the greatest cities in the world is of course the Big Apple, New York City. Long Island is a different animal all together though. LI is 118 miles long and 23 miles wide at its peak, and is the most populated island in the US. It’s also the home of some great rockers…

Edward Joseph Mahoney (Eddie Money) grew up wanting to be a NYC policeman, just like his dad and his grandfather. In fact, he was a trainee when music called. Like Pat Benatar, he was born in Brooklyn, but moved to Plainedge on Long Island at a very early age. Eddie took a different patch to fame and fortune; he moved to Berkeley, California in his early 20s and made a name for himself in club bands. Eddie has sold millions of records, recorded 11 studio LPs, and appeared in a GEICO TV commercial as himself a few years ago.

Brian Setzer was born and raised in Massapequa, Long Island. He made his fame and fortune honing his 50s sound with the ‘Stray Cats’ (later the Brian Setzer Orchestra) and hit the charts with “Rock This Town” and “Summertime Blues” which he performed in the film La Bamba (starring Lou Diamond Phillips).
