Most people would agree that Katy Perry and Britney Spears are two of the best female singers/performers of the last 10 years. They’ve given us hit after hit and continue to sell an amazing amount of tickets. It’s a funny coincidence that these two scored number one hits on the exact same day in different years.
Britney Spears’ “Hold It Against Me” reached number one on January 29 of 2011 while Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse” hit the top spot on that date in 2014.
Funny enough, “Hold It Against Me” was almost given to Katy Perry for her to sing, but Max Martin and Dr. Luke decided it wasn’t meant for her. We think they made the right move to give it to Britney!
As for “Dark Horse,” this hit was the classic jam that featured rapper Juicy J. Martin and Dr. Luke also played a hand in this song as they were two of the three producers on the track.
