Tony Bennett With Another Record?!

Tony Bennett is a record holder, setting yet another one this week, becoming the Guinness World Record for having the longest time between the release of an original recording, and the second recording of the same song by the same singer or artist.

Here’s what we mean – song “Fascinating Rhythm” (a George and Ira Gershwin 1924 tune) was recorded and released by Tony in 1949 as Tony found himself in the early days of his career. Now in 2018, Tony has re-recorded the song for an album with singer Diana Krall, working together on the song and upcoming album. Tony is now 92, and the distance between the first and current release is nearly 69 years. Oh my.
