The 2016 Billboard Music Awards were quite fun to watch and one artist definitely had himself a great time. We talked about The Weeknd last week, before the award show, and discussed how he had a great chance at taking home many awards. Well, he certainly did that winning eight of the 19 nominations he had.
The Weeknd has never been nominated for a Billboard Music Award, but this year he was the most nominated artist. He had 19 nominations spanning many genres including rap and R&B.
Of his eight wins, his biggest wins probably came were Top Hot 100 Artist, Top R&B Artist, and Top Song Sales Artist. His other five wins were Top Radio Songs Artist, Top Streaming Songs Artist, Top Streaming Song (Audio), Top R&B Album, and Top R&B Song.
