Welcome 2017! 10 years ago the mortgage crisis nearly crashed the country’s total economy, while 33 Virginia Tech students were murdered in the country’s worst mass shooting.

The music was a bit more up lifting. What were the top rock songs from 2007?

Whitesnake “Here I Go Again”
Bon Jovi “Livin’ On a Prayer”
Poison “Talk Dirty To Me”
Aerosmith “Dude (Looks Like a Lady)”
Motley Crue “Girls, Girls, Girls”
The Grateful Dead “Touch of Grey”
Los Lobos “La Bamba”
U2 “With or Without You”
Billy Idol “Mony Mony”
The Georgia Satellites “Keep Your Hands To Yourself”

Observations: 2007 was a decent year for rock given that Aerosmith, U2, and the Dead are all in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Aerosmith’s “Lady..” and “Girls” by the Crue were smash hits, while we never heard from the Georgia Satellites, Los Lobos, or Poison again. Extra credit should be given to Billy for hanging on a little while longer.
