The 11-day SXSW (South By Southwest) film, technology and music festival is already underway in Austin Texas, and the film festival delivered awards this week, a few that will surprise you. The films ‘Thunder Road,’ the ‘People’s Republic of Desire,’ ‘Emergency,’ ‘She’s the Ticket,’ ‘Counterpart,’ ‘An Uncertain Future,’ and ‘My Dead Dad’s Porno Tapes’ were independent films and documentary’s that earned top honors in various categories.

Madonna has signed on to direct ‘Taking Flight’ the biopic of international ballet star Michaela DePrince. This will be her third try at directing.

Bad boy Shia LaBeouf opens up this week in the tabloids about his shameful past and tripping to drugs, his battle in rehab, and remorse for being so bad these past few years.

The popular television show ‘Cagney and Lacey’ is getting a reboot, starring Grey’s Anatomy Sarah Drew, the project is in the early stages in Los Angeles.
