The television series Empire is a very popular show that pulls back the curtain on the music industry, revealing just how competitive the business can be. Taraji P. Henson is one of the stars of Empire and has a Hollywood resume that most working actors would love to have.
Taraji hails from the Washington DC area, working as a secretary in the Pentagon and waitress before graduating from Howard University. Her first big break came in 2001 as Yvette in the comedy-drama film Baby Boy, a role that helped her secure her breakout role in ‘Hustle and Flow.’ We know her as one of the incredible actors in the acclaimed film ‘Hidden Figures,’ but she’s really come into her own on Empire.
Taraji has earned a Grammy, SAG, and Critics Choice nominations in her brief career. In 2018 you’ll be able to see her in ‘The Best of Enemies,’ ‘The List,’ and ‘What Men Want,’ all films scheduled to be released this year.
