‘The Meg’ Steals the Weekend Box Office Thunder

Every now and then Hollywood produces a surprise, a moment when even the brightest executive didn’t see this coming… Well, this past weekend at the box office, the film ‘The Meg; surprised everyone with the nearly $50 million weekend debut. The film was produced with a $130-million-dollar budget, starring Jason Statham, Bingbing Li, Rainn Wilson, Cliff Curtis and Winston Chao.

Rounding out the top 10 this past weekend were the movies Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Disney’s Christopher Robin, Slender Man, BlacKkKlansman, The Spy Who Dumped Me, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, Equalizer 2, Dog Days, Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation, and Ant-Man and the Wasp.
