The Meaning’s in the Words Man..

A great rock song is short, has a catchy tune, and terrific lyrics. Sometimes the lyrics are all that matter. Often times the words carry more meaning that the writer had intended, but the words are the magic. Here are a few examples of great lyrics, words we wish we’d written…

“You can check in any time you like, but you can never leave” from “Hotel California” by the Eagles reminds us of the irony of rock and roll.

The Talking Heads gave us “And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack / And you may find yourself in another part of the world / And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile” in their song “One in a Lifetime,” one of the best lines ever.

Where we really want to go and we’ll walk in the sun, but till then tramps like us – baby we were born to run, oh honey, tramps like us, baby we were born to run, tramps like us, baby we were born to run” from Bruce Springsteen’s “Born to Run” is why the Boss is so successful in nearly everything he does.

Led Zeppelin’s “There’s a lady who’s sure all that glitters is gold, and she’s buying a stairway to heaven. When she gets there she knows, if the stores are all closed With a word she can get what she came for” is magical right?
