The Rolling Stones’ classic album, Some Girls turned 40 last week, making us think of what other rock albums celebrate their 40th birthday his year; here are a few surprises…

‘Van Halen’ by Van Halen included the songs “You Really Got Me,” “Ain’t Talkin’ ‘out Love,” and “Runnin’ with the Devil” and broke the top 10 at the end of the year.

Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band’s ‘Stranger in Town’ proved to be a Hugh success for Bob, releasing the singles “Still the Same” “Old Time Rock and Roll” “We’ve Got Tonite” and “Hollywood Nights.” Anyone of these songs would have made an LP a hit.

The Who’s ‘Who Are You’ turns 40 this year, with title track keeping the band on the charts that year.

The Cars self-entitled and debut album ‘The Cars’ put the band from Boston on the map, releasing “Good Times Roll” “My Best Friend’s Girl” “Just What I Needed” and “You’re All I’ve Got Tonight.”

Billy Joel’s ‘52nd Street’ pushed Billy into the early 80s with “Big Shot” “My Life” and the ballad “Honesty” tunes that sold millions of copies.
