The Library of Congress Adds Your Favs

There will be the 25 new entries inducted into the upcoming class for the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry, including many of your favorites songs, recordings, albums and more. These new members of the national registry are singled out as the best, reflecting each contribution to the historical, and contribution to the sound of America. Here’s the relevant list of the new members…

Fleetwood Mac’s classic 1977 album ‘Rumours’ is on the list, contributing a ton of singles that went gold; the album stayed on the charts for years in the Top 200. From the 80s we welcome Kenny Loggins’ 1984 hit “Footloose,” a rare song that made the movie of the same name a Hollywood classic. Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way” will be admitted, as will the 70s “Alice’s Restaurant” from folk/rock icon Arlo Guthrie.

Just for good measure, ‘An Evening with Groucho’ the album is also on the list. There are now over 500 entries, comprising of songs, albums, and voice recordings in the National Recording Registry.
