The Late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin Earns Hollywood Star

Crocodile Hunter legend Steve Irwin’s family and friends were on hand this past week to watch Steve earn a posthumous star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame in Hollywood. Steve Irwin had a nickname, ‘The Crocodile Hunter’ earned as a rough and tumble animal conservationist’s and television personality who died unexpectedly in 2006 at the hands of a stingray barb.

The incident took place on September 4th, 2006 as Steve approached a 6 footy stingray in snorkel gear, wearing only light rubber garb. As Steve approached the animal, the stingray began to stabbing wildly with its tail, striking Steve a few times in the chest; Steve was rushed to the hospital thinking he had a collapsed lung. Sadly, one of the strikes targeted his heart where he bled to death minutes his arrival to the ER.

Terri Irwin Steve’s widow and his beloved children, Bindi, and Robert Irwin, were on hand to participate in the emotional ceremony.
