The late rockstar Chris Cornell was voted “Rock’s Greatest Singer” by readers of Guitar World, and ranked No. 4 on the list of “Heavy Metal’s All-Time Top 100 Vocalists” by Hit Parader, No. 9 on the list of “Best Lead Singers of All Time” by Rolling Stone, and No. 12 on MTV’s “22 Greatest Voices in Music”.
It’s no surprise that Cornell’s iconic vocals live on beyond his tragic death in 2017, where he was found dead in his Detroit hotel room in the early hours of May 18, 2017, after performing at a Soundgarden concert an hour earlier at the Fox Theatre.
The track “Patience” is a song by American hard rock band Guns N’ Roses, which appears on the album G N’ R Lies and was released as a single in 1989. The song peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song is a ballad, played using three acoustic guitars and was recorded in a single session by producer Mike Clink. Chris Cornell’s rendition of the track was released posthumously on July 20, 2020.
