The 60s was an incredible decade that historians often describe as the ideological perfect storm that will never be repeated. This decade became the hotbed for racial and gender strife, the Vietnam War, civil unrest, drug exploration and technological advances; all reflected in the music. Here is a list of albums from the 60s that made a difference…

“Tommy” by the Who is an album that brought theatrics and deep writing to the forefront of rock music. The concept album has been the inspiration of books, movies and Broadway show.

“Led Zeppelin II” from the classic group Led Zeppelin is still consider the most influential rock album of its time. Zeppelin’s biggest hit “Whole Lotta Love” came from the vinyl.

“Meet the Beatles” became the album every young man in the early 60s bought, at the protest of his mother. Parents in 1964 thought their hair was too long and the music was too loud. This album launched the Beatles to the stratosphere.
