When we think of rock, we typically think of the 70s, 80s and early 90s. Journey, Bad Company, Van Halen, vintage Stones and Beatles tunes come to mind specifically. There were however a few awesome LPs dropped by our favorite bands and singers this year, so let’s take a look at the best albums from our favorite stars that hit the shelves in 2016.
Heart released ‘Broken Beautiful’ this year, while David Bowie left ‘Blackstar’ before he left this warm earth. Believe it or not, the Monkees had a new album in 2016, as did Santana. Tom Petty released a new LP under the band name of Mudcrutch, an old favorite project in his early years.
Paul Simon gave the world new music in 2016, as did Pearl Jam, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton, Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi and Motley Crue. Some of these new projects are reissues or remasters of earlier work, most include new or never heard before songs.
