The 70s was a very confusing decade. Folk/Rock was taking off, progressive rock was becoming more commercial and disco would infect the decade with its thump and fashion. The only genre that remained true to its humble beginnings was soul and funk. What were the best soul albums of the 70s?

Unfortunately Marvin, Curtis, Michael, Phillipe Wynne of the Spinners, and Maurice White of EW&F have all passed away. There were no better soul/funk songs around than what the 70s provided.
