Everyone knows Canada is a wonderful country to the north that has given us the great sport of hockey and a few great actors like Dan Aykroyd and William Shatner. Canada has also made its mark musically by being the birthplace of ‘Loverboy’ one of the best bands from the late 70s and 80s.

Loverboy’s been together for 35 years, giving us great songs like “Everybody’s Working for the Weekend,” “Turn Me Loose,” and “It’s over.” Loverboy began in Calgary, Alberta in 1979 and have been led vocally by lead singer of Mike Reno.

‘SNL’ made the song “Everybody’s Working for the Weekend” famous with a skit with the late Patrick Swayze and Chris Farley.

Loverboy has sold millions of albums and has won multiple Juno Awards (the Canadian version of the Gramm) and was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2009.
