The American League continued its recent dominance over the National League with a 8-6 victory in the 89th MLB All-Star Game at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. the American League hit 5 of the 10 home runs, with Houston Astros’ Alex Bregman and George Springer  proving to be the difference in extra innings.

Bregman and Springer smashed back-to-back homers in the top of the 10th, answering the two-run blast from Cincinnati Reds second baseman Scooter Gennett that tied everything in the ninth.

This was the tie breaker.  The win gave the American League an overall record of 44-43-2 at mid-summer classic.
