In 1969, brother’s Duane and Gregg Allman, Dickie Betts, Jaimoe Johanson, Butch Trucks, and Berry Oakley began a journey that would take them to international celebrity and tragedy, giving the world ‘The Allman Brothers.’

The Allman Brothers sold over 100 million albums, earning countless Grammy awards, induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995, and recorded what many consider the greatest live album ever released, “Live at Fillmore East’ in 1971.

Berry and Duane died in separate motorcycle accidents almost a year to day apart, while Gregg has battled drug addiction and his former marriage to Cher. Recently, news that Butch Trucks had died made fans sad.

Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot, The Outlaws, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and 38 Special all hail from the sunshine state as well.
