There may never be another Woodstock Music Festival, but every year the Mountain Jam Festival does its thing, bringing the best rockers outdoors for three glorious nights. The event is scheduled for June 16-18 at Hunter Mountain in Hunter, N.Y. a few weeks earlier than its typical date to increase the chances of good weather, and preventing last minute cancellations by acts.

The 2017 Mountain Jam headliners include Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, the Steve Miller Band, and Peter Frampton.

What makes this festival unique is that the stage is shared by up to 35 unknowns or ‘indie’ groups over the festival schedule. To give you an idea of the power of the festival, last year’s performers were Beck, the Chris Robinson Brotherhood and Gov’t Mule. Tickets for the 2017 Mountain Jam Festival are available now. VIP tickets begin at $600 per, while general admission is just under $200 per. Hunter Mountain is about two hours north of New York City in the northern Catskill Mountains, N.Y.
