In an interview set to air this weekend on CBS Sunday Morning, Taylor Swift says she’s going to re-record the masters of her earlier songs to regain control over them  in order to creatively circumvent Scooter Braun’s recent purchase of her former label, Big Machine.

In June, Braun got the rights to Swift’s masters when his media holding company acquired Scott Borchetta’s Big Machine Label Group for a reported $300 million.  According to The AP, Big Machine Label Group was home to Swift’s first six albums.

Tracy Smith asked Swift about re-recording the past songs as a way of regaining control of her master recordings. “Might you do that?” she asked.

“Oh, yeah,” Swift replied.

“That’s a plan?”

“Yeah, absolutely,” Swift said.

Sunday Morning, hosted by Jane Pauley, is broadcast on CBS Sundays beginning at 9:00 a.m. ET
