Sprint Purchases Portion of Tidal

Tidal is the streaming service created by Jay Z and just recently Sprint decided they wanted to be a part of the streaming service world as well. They purchased 33% of the company, allowing them to provide Tidal to their near 50 million customers.

The purchase by Sprint cost them $200 according to Billboard, but that should be worth it considering how big streaming services are these days. Jay Z as well as many of the other artists who own a portion of the company will stay on as partners.

Back in March of 2015 the two had apparently agreed upon a deal to become partners, but there were no financial obligations involved. Instead they said they were working to make both sides better in this medium.
