The news is often littered with stories about stars auctioning off personal items, typically guitars, sheet music or clothing on famous tours. Now we hear that Sir Rod Stewart intends to auction off furniture, yes, his furniture. On September 11th, Rod will hold a special auction that allows fans to bid on household items like a teak armchair, bronze side tables, picture frames and more.

The event will be handled by Sworders’ Fine Art of Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex, with 60+ items will be up for bid from his Essex UK mansion, including 19th-century mirrors and bronze wall sconces, figurines and other pieces of rare and collectible furniture.

We’re not sure what Rod will do with the extra money or why he’s choosing to downsize his room at the mansion, but we’ll keep you posted on the auction and final tally, held September 11th in Essex UK.
