Shawn Mendes’ track, “If I Can’t Have You,” is his first solo release since his 2018 self-titled album. And now, we have a music video for the song. The Canadian pop star dropped the new track with its moody black and white video.  The visual includes Mendes at his charming best at the mic, behind a grand piano and apparently on a treadmill.

In the visual, Mendes sings, “I’m in Toronto and I got this view/But I might as well be in a hotel room, yeah/It doesn’t matter ’cause I’m so consumed/Spending all my nights reading texts from you.”

Mendes wrote the song along with  Scott Harris, Teddy Geiger and Nate Mercreau.  The track will be performed live it for the first time on Saturday Night Live this Saturday, May 4th.
