Award shows aren’t just about winners, losers and who performs. They’re also about what is being said before, after and during the show. Last night’s American Music Awards showed us that this was truer than ever before.
Selena Gomez won the Favorite Female Artist – Pop/Rock award and took to the stage to give her speech. This is when she became emotional and was extremely genuine with her fans. She talked about how she felt “absolutely broken inside” and kept everything within so as not to let down her fans. Selena talked about how loyal her fans were and how thankful she was to have them in her life.
Then Selena talked to others who have felt depressed and said “But if you are broken, you do not have to stay broken…” What a wonderful speech Selena gave last night. Make sure you seek it out and give it a listen before the work day is over.
