Sam Smith Wins an Oscar

On Sunday night, the Oscars were quite the sight to see. As always, the show recognizes the best in the film and movie business, but they always recognize some of the back work that goes into it. This included producing, makeup, and costumes among a few others. One other detail it doesn’t skip is the music in a movie. Well, Sam Smith was the winner of this year’s Best Original Song for his work on the movie “Spectre.”

One of the competitors he beat was none other than Lady Gaga who put together an amazing performance on stage with 50 rape victims alongside her. While her song “Til It Happens to You” was amazing, it did not take home the award. The Weeknd’s “Earned It” was in contention for the award, but the “Fifty Shades of Grey” song left empty handed.
