Calling all Bostonians and Notorious RBG (aka Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg) fans! On March 29, American brew giant Samuel Adams released a very special new beer.  Dubbed “When There Are Nine,” the beer company was inspired by Ginsburg and her response to being asked, “When will there be enough women on the Supreme Court?” reports Boston.com.

“When I’m sometimes asked when will there be enough [women on the Supreme Court] and I say, ‘When there are nine,’ people are shocked. But there’d been nine men, and nobody’s ever raised a question about that,” Ginsburg has famously stated.

The beer, a Belgian Brut IPA, was fittingly brewed on International Women’s Day, and the hops used were a special blend created by the Pink Boots Society and hop-maker Yakima Chief.  The Pink Boots Society (PBS) is a noon-profit organization founded by brewer Teri Fahrendorf, with international membership which supports women working in the brewing profession, especially in creating craft beer. Fahrendorf named it after the pink boots she wore when brewing which had been given to her by her mother-in-law.  The organization helps women brewers meet mentors, have the opportunity to network with other women in the profession and raises awareness of women in brewing. All members must be women and have some type of career in the brewing world or related to beer and beer-making.

Fans can try it exclusively at the brewery’s tap room (30 Germania St, Boston, MA 02130) right now. But hurry before the RBG tap runs dry!
