There’s nothing wrong with getting older, the alternative is pretty scary. Wisdom comes with age, and pretty soon there’s a discount for being this old! Life goes by like the blink of an eye, so don;t look now as these ‘rockers’ are older than you think. Sure you paid money to see them in the 70s, but you were in college – and they were not. Those turning 60 or 61 this year include Eddie Van Halen, Angus Young (AC/DC), Billy Idol, David Lee Roth, Nina Blackwood (okay not a singer but a MTV V-J we just had to mention), Mick Jones (The Clash), John Travolta, Nancy Wilson (Heart), Jermaine Jackson (The Jackson 5), Billy Idol, and Annie Lennox. To give you more context, Kevin Costner, Bruce Willis, and Howie Mandel all turn 60 this year.
In memoriam – Stevie Ray Vaughn, and the recording and release of ‘Rock Around the Clock” by Bill Haley and the Comets, considered the birth of Rock and Roll as we know it today.
